Happy Thursday Folks. Today is a tale in three chapters. Chapter 1 is the story of Soleil by In-House Bud. Chapter 2 is a tale of the 1 cent pre-roll that came as a special with the 1/2oz of Soleil I acquired. The final act introduces the hero of the story, The 2 gram temple ball of Pink Runtz Hash!!!!
Chapter 1 – Soleil Flower by In House Bud. The Soleil is tagged as a Hybrid which leans Sativa.
- Smell – Fairly nice but mild straw/earthy smell. There’s a hint of pine. My smoking partner said they were getting hints of something herbal like Sleepytime herbal tea. All in all, nice aroma but nothing that really stood out. A bit subdued in the smell department
- Appearance – There were enough big chonker buds in my 1/2oz bag. But most of the buds were very fine medium sized buds. The buds have a nice squeeze and they grind up perfect, small fluffy piles of nice grind.
- Taste – Gotta tell ya folks, its kind of bland. No real identifiable flavors come through. Boring would be the best way to describe it. Some of the smells that I mentioned do kind of come through when smoked, but not really.
- The high – Similar to the taste, the high here was not a power blast. It definitely smokes like a sativa to me, I did not feel mellow and knocked out like a good indica, I was just high, that’s all. So, on the high it doesn’t really sing out in any new or unique way.
Chapter 2 – Larry Bird Mints Pre Roll by Nature’s Heritage. The Verb is Herb was offering a deal, if you bought any In-House flower you received a Larry Bird Mints preroll for a penny. I took advantage of this generous offer and took home this Indica leaning hybrid.
- Smell – Not much smell, but with commercial pre-rolls that is often the case.
- Appearance – Hey man, it was a commercially rolled pre-roll, it looked fine, it burned fine, it was well constructed.
- Taste – very tasty!!! This has a nice “spicy” flavor. Inhales give good strong “weed’ taste. Exhales give you a great mouthful of spice like pepper and cayenne. There is a sweet note under there like perhaps a vanilla.
- The High – this is a lower testing joint, at 23%. I know some heavy smokers might not give this a try and I totally understand. But the high was very mellow and you could feel the indica effects that just made me relaxed and calm.
Chapter 3 – Pint Runtz 2 Gram Temple Ball Hash by Triple M. First time the Verb has carried this product. I was excited to get my hands on some. I have always enjoyed the high from hash, I feel like it really hits my whole body, not just behind my eyes.
- Smell – Not much smell when its just in the ball form. But when you get your nose close and take a big whiff it just smells . . . . nice.
- Appearance – First of all the folks at Triple M did a great job on the packaging. The box is nice, then when you open the box the glass container is wrapped in a pretty gold foil wrap like a Golden Ticket Wonka bar. In terms of the actual hash? What does it look like? Like a brown ball of hash. What else can I tell you. I will say that it squeezes and mushes like a real fudge brownie. Some hash is more like silly putty, but this one is slightly “cake” if that makes sense.
- Taste – very sweet and smooth. I am going to be honest I put this in a hash hole joint so the taste was combined with the flower I used. But it all tasted good. In fact, here’s what I did. I took the Soleil from Chapter 1, I then rolled a hash hole joint, putting a long line of the rolled out hash down the center. When this hash hole joint was smoked, it took that ordinary Soleil flower from just “ok” all the way to, Damn Skippy! That shit smacks. So yummy.
- The High – Hey, did I mention I smoked this in a hash hole joint? It got us very, very, happily high.
To Summarize our tale of Three Cannabis products –
The Soleil is kinda mid, but it came with a penny pre-roll. The Larry Bird Mints penny pre-roll was a nice spicy snack that smoked much better than its 1 cent cost. Finally the Pink Runtz Hash was a hit! Great effects, great taste and able to elevate a middling product like Soleil into something special.
Bowling Score: Well, the hash infused Soleil joint did result in us all bowling better after we smoked it, so that’s saying something.
