Durban Poison is a very old strain that has been around since the 70’s when it was “discovered” in South Africa by cannabis activist Ed Rosenthal. He was so impressed he brought back seeds to the US.
With that being said he is the review:
1. Smell – Incredible! When you open the jar and take that big first sniff you get powerful gas notes. Some so strong that it almost seemed like I was smelling strong paint fumes. Like someone was just finishing applying a finish to a new floor in a closed room (but in a good way!). You also get strong citrus and pine scents. Really amazing.
2. Appearance – I had a really nice big bud and some smaller ones. The buds are slightly fluffy and have a resiny squeeze to them. It grinds up a little sticky but still fluffy. You can take piles of the ground weed and pinch some and it sticks together in a satisfying way.
3. Taste – Man, don’t get me started!!! There is a whole lot going on here. First inhale brings strong notes of citrus and BIG pine flavors! On the exhale you get some pepper and almost floral lavender notes. Overall a very smooth, flavorful and enjoyable smoke.
4. The high – This is a sativa folks, and it did not disappoint. I was super focused, granted I did watch TV but man did I enjoy it! I was engaged and I had a lively conversation about what we were watching with my smoking partner.
Side note: I discovered this guy on YouTube – you have to check him out, he’s KILLING IT!
